SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY: WHAT METRICS SHOULD A MARKETER FOCUS ON TO CREATE A BRAND

To create a brand, you have to have a conversation with your customers.  Just like any conversation or friendship, metrics tells you if that friendship and conversation is growing.  If no one wants to talk to you, you know that your friendships are not expanding. On Facebook, you can follow certain metrics to know if your brand is expanding.  If more people are not coming to your page, you know that something is wrong.

  • Search request;  If your brand is expanding, there should be more and more people coming to look for you.
  • Trends;  Are higher percentages of people coming to your sight
  • Page Views: The Page is where you put your business.  If know one is coming to your page, this means that people are not interested in what you have to say---you have to adjust to adding newer and more engaging material.
  • Likes and Dislikes: If your materials engaging, your likes with be more than your dislikes
  • Comments: If people are engaged with your content they will continue to make more and more comments.
